The latest statistical snapshot on deaths by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) raises some interesting data for the funeral industry in South Australia.

In 2018, there were 158,493 deaths registered in Australia, 2,416 less than the number registered in the previous year (160,909). Over three quarters (77.4%) of these deaths occurred in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland combined.

In South Australia, there were 13,571 deaths, 481 less than the number registered in the previous year (14,052).
